How to Join the Chicago Dermatological Society

  1. The candidate for membership must be nominated by a regular member.  There is a place for the sponsor's name on the application form.
  2. The nominated candidate must complete the standard application form and submit it along with the required application fee.  Currently, the fee is $300 (applied to the first year dues) with a discounted rate of $200 for recent graduates from residency in their first two years of practice.
  3. The names of new member applicants are reviewed by the Membership Committee to assure that all of the requirements have been met.  Nominees for membership are announced at a CDS business meeting with final approval by the CDS governing body, Plans & Policies Committee.
  4. The elected candidate is notified by mail or email once the membership application process is complete.
  5. A member may request a change from one membership category to another by writing to the Chairman of the Membership Committee, care of the CDS administrative office. Changes in membership category are then presented to the Plans & Policies Committee for final approval.
