CDS Research Grant Programs

Introduction

The Chicago Dermatological Society is pleased to offer grants to young investigators and residents in training as a way of fostering interest in scientific inquiry and clinical research.  Research grants typically are for a one-year period in amounts up to $7,000 while funded resident QI projects may receive $1,000..  

Awards in two general categories are available:

Early Investigator Pilot Study Research Award

  • Grants for early investigators with no previous record of major funding such as a Dermatology Foundation Award and/or NIH funding.

 Dermatology Resident Quality Improvement Award

  • An award to fund a Chicago area resident’s required quality improvement (QI) project.

Timetable

The CDS Scientific Committee will consider applications in two cycles each year:

  • Fall 2021 Cycle — Complete applications received no later than August 10, 2021, for awards to be announced at the September 2020 CDS meeting.  Final report on the project will be due in November the following year.
  • Spring 2021 Cycle — Complete applications received no later than May 17, 2021, for awards to be announced at the June 2021 CDS meeting.  Final report on the project will be due in June the following year.
